Our Year 1/2 Literacy Foundations class is specifically designed for early readers (from Pre-Primary to Year 2) who are not yet ready to independently read chapter books. This foundational programme focuses on: Essential Phonics & Blending: Building strong decoding mechanics to unlock new words confidently. Independent Reading Habits: Establishing the critical literacy pillars required to transition into chapter books, directly aligning with Mica Academy's core curriculum priority of fostering independent reading. Confidence & Expression: Nurturing early vocabulary and comprehension skills in an encouraging, collaborative setting to prepare students for future advanced writing and analytical streams.
