This class builds stronger, more structured writing across the pieces your child is actually asked to produce at school — narrative, information and persuasive texts — with a clear focus on organisation and expression.

What We’re Covering This Term

• Planning before writing: organising ideas into a clear structure before putting pen to paper.
• Paragraph and text structure: building pieces that flow logically from one idea to the next.
• Stronger expression: varied sentence structure and more deliberate word choices.
• Editing skills: reviewing and improving a draft, not just producing a first attempt and stopping.

Why It Matters

This is often the stage where the gap between “can write” and “writes well” starts to show up on report cards. A structured approach now prevents that gap from widening as writing demands increase.
